Staves are larger pieces of the oak wood used in wine making, great for a longer burn. These staves are from Southern wines produced in the Mediterranean; the wine is stored in 500 litre American oak barrels (known as “botas”) and produce an aroma of roasted nuts.
How to Use:
Set your barbecue up and wait for the flames to die down. Place on top 4 – 5 pieces of wood chunks. We recommend soaking the wood chunks in water before barbecuing for about 15 to 30 minutes in order to intensify smoking results and flavours. These staves are great for a longer smoky burn.
