Porto BBQ Smoking Chips

Porto wine is a fortified wine, with added brandy to stop the fermentation process. This way, the sugar which doesn't turn into alcohol remains pure wine, giving it its characteristic sweet taste while being matured in oak barrels. After preparation, the barrel is emptied so that the taste and smell of the port remains in the wood.

These barrels are turned into chips which unite the quality oak this wine with great character of this fabulous wine. The final result is an ideal complement to cooked food on grills and gas ovens.

The Porto Wine chips, offers complex flavors, perfect to enhance food texture and taste.

How to use:

Before cooking, soak your wood chips in water for about 30-60 minutes.

Charcoal Barbecues: Add a handful of pre-soaked chips onto your hot charcoal, spread it around to get an even smoke. The more chips – the more smoke!

Gas Barbecues: Follow your gas barbecue instructions.
