FireFly Barbecue win big at the Great Taste Awards 2018 for a second year
The Great Taste Awards 2018 results are in and its fantastic news!
Firefly Barbecue picked up the two stars for our Carolina Reaper Hot Sauce, and Peruvian Amarillo Chilli Sauce, along with a host of other stars for our Mississippi Master Rub, Ghost Chilli Cajun Seasoning, Carolina Reaper Rub, and Texas Lone start rub.
The Guild of Fine Food's annual Great Taste award winners 2018 were released this week. Described as the "epicurean equivalent of the Man Booker prize", the presence of a distinctive black and gold Great Taste logo in your pantry or fridge is an almost certain indicator that your tastebuds are in for a treat.
One, two and three star awards were bestowed in 35 categories, ranging from spirits and liqueurs to cured meat and charcuterie and frozen desserts.
The products were tasted blind, with no regard for branding or packaging, by 500 demanding palates belonging to food critics, chefs, restaurateurs, cooks, producers, food writers, journalists and social media influencers.
The tastings took place over 65 days of judging at the Guild of Fine Food's headquarters in Gillingham, Dorset, as well as the London base at 42 Southwark Street.
This year, 12,634 products were judged in total, of which a total of 4,653 received an accolade. Of those, just 192 were awarded 3 stars, while 1,207 received 2 stars and 3,254 were given one star.
